Peter Wallis practises primarily in general commercial law, class actions, intellectual property and competition law. Peter has substantial trial experience, having appeared in the Supreme Court and Federal Court in a wide range of interlocutory and final hearings.

Prior to joining the Bar, Peter was a Senior Associate at Allens Arthur Robinson, where he specialised in intellectual property, commercial litigation and competition law.

Peter is recognised for his expertise in Doyle’s Guide - Leading Victorian Intellectual Property & Technology, Media and Telecommunication Law Senior Counsel Rankings for 2022.

Peter has appeared in a range of high-profile class actions, including the Murrindindi bushfire class action in 2014 and 2015, the Aspen Pharmacare pharmaceutical class action in 2013 and the Centro shareholders class action in 2011. Peter is also regularly instructed on intellectual property law matters, having appeared in a range of copyright, trade mark and breach of confidence proceedings, primarily in the Federal Court. He has also acted in a wide range of general commercial matters as well as a large number of competition matters on behalf of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.
